Jelani Women Travel is the TOMS® of service travel for Black women and girls. When women sign up for an epic vacation with a purpose across 13 destinations in Africa, underserved teen girls have an opportunity to participate in the Jelani Girls cultural enrichment program, culminating in their very own international travel experience.

Women choose us as a way to travel because they want to discover the world's unbeaten path alongside other service-minded women. The new friendships created when empowered women who want to vacation with a purpose get together is pure #blackgirlmagic!

Please note that 90 days prior to your trip you will be invited to a private Facebook group where you can access the following: 

• Detailed itinerary
• Virtual introductions with other women who will also be participating in our service trip (Note that our service day will be different than in the past as we will not be able to gather in large groups with the children. We will still be able to come together to deliver gifts and make an impact on an orphanage in need.)
• A safety conference call to discuss precautions the group will take to travel
• FAQ country specific document
• Do's and Don'ts list for international travel

: Arrive in Cairo (CAI) by 3PM on Sep 1, 2021 and depart anytime on Sep 7, 2021. 

*Note: Individuals who purchase double occupancy and traveling without a roommate, will be paired with a roommate if available on a first come first serve basis. If a roommate is not available, you will be required to upgrade to single occupancy.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to trip start date will be subject to the following terms:

$0-$499 (non-refundable and non-transferable)                                                                                     

Any remaining balance paid over the non-refundable amount of $499 is refundable.

Cancellations of confirmed bookings 89 days or less prior to trip start date will be subject to the following terms:

Loss of 100% of program price.

Touch down in Egypt and be ready to explore the ancient gems of the capital city such as the Coptic and Islamic Cairo. Explore the famous night bazaar before being welcomed with traditional tea and local cuisine.

Behold the oldest and only standing monument of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, The Great Pyramids of Giza. Here you will also find the world renowned Sphinx with an opportunity to get inside one of the surrounding pyramids.

Take a short flight to Upper Egypt to experience an island in Aswan, home to the extraordinary Temple of Philae. Check into our Nile cruise ship just in time for a proper Egyptian lunch. In the afternoon, visit a Nubian village along the Nile by motor boat and adorn yourself at a house of henna.

Relax while sailing along the fertile river Nile from Aswan to Luxor and enjoy the must see stops along the way. Take a horse carriage ride to the second largest temple in Egypt, the Temple of Edfu followed by an evening of entertainment and dancing.

Witness the pharaonic monuments of the Valley of the Kings, The Colossi of Memnon, and the infamous Luxor Temple for the final night on our Nile cruise ship. After soaking up the information from the Egyptologist that will accompany you each day, you will feel like an expert.

Depart from Luxor on your return flight to Cairo for our service project with underserved children who want to spend time with Jelani Women. We will bring them gifts and food based on the requests of their care takers. We do not have to speak the same language in order for others to know that we care about them.
